Day 244 - Our Classic Pose

We've gotten pretty good at taking our own picture... as long as it doesn't involve anything but us! Our "classic pose" as I dubbed it is me on Roy's left, holding the camera, and cutting off Roy's head. Pretty much every time. Sitting down makes it a bit easier cuz the height difference isn't so much! Thankful for all the classic pose pictures we have together!

Day 243 - My Hot Glue Gun

Nothing profound or amazing, but I am thankful for this hot glue gun! Any crafter loves her glue gun :)

Day 242 - Picture from the Past: Butterflies

Due to a bad headache, today's picture is one I took previously. I don't know if I'd be able to take one that I like as much as this one anyway! This beautiful swallowtail always brings a smile to my face! Love butterflies!

Day 241 - My Apron

Roy gave me this apron for Christmas last year, and I LOVE it! The colors, patterns, and design are super cute. Plus, I make a MESS when I cook, so an apron is a necessity! This keeps me from getting food all over, and I look great while cooking :)

Day 240 - Microwave Popcorn...

...That actually fits in the microwave!! We've gone so long with small microwaves that can't adequately fit a normal bag of popcorn. Tonight we put on an episode of White Collar and popped our first bag of popcorn in a decent sized microwave!

Day 239 - Communion

Tonight our church had communion. They do what's called a triune communion. It consists of an agape feast to look forward to the marriage supper of the Lamb that we eagerly await, footwashing to symbolize cleansing and serving one another, and the bread and cup. It was a really nice time of sharing, fellowship, remembering, and yearning for what is to come.

Day 238 - Women's Ministry Fair

Today our church had a women's ministry fair. I couldn't decide which picture to use, so I did both! The first is from a skit that two sisters did. The arms and hands are actually from the girl behind her putting makeup on her sister without being able to see. It was hilarious!

We had lots of yummy food, including these cute sunflower cookies! Fun!

Day 237 - Ohio Car Insurance

Our new insurance cards came today. We're saving several hundred dollars a year because of moving to Ohio from Dallas! Yay!

Day 236 - God's Sovereignty

His working things together for my good is so much better than my attempts would be. So grateful that He is sovereign over all.

Day 235 - Rubber Cement

Making a trifold board for a church event, and this stuff is so great! I always thought rubber cement was a normal household item (it was in my home!), but after finding out that my Target did not carry it, maybe I'll have to rethink that!

Day 234 - Myers-Briggs

Greatly enjoyed a discussion tonight with some friends which included our Myers-Briggs results. Always interesting to hear what people are!

Day 233 - Fruit Bowl

There's something I love about fresh fruit in a bowl. It sits there reminding you of its presence while adding a splash of color to your decor. I especially love it right now in the midst of our crazy apartment! The kitchen is actually coming together, and this bowl of fruit makes it seem more complete :)

Day 232 - Swiffer

Gone are my childhood days of Fantastik and paper towels on my hands and knees!

Day 231 - Unpacking

Grateful to have our own place! Can't wait for everything to be put away!

Day 230 - Strength

Love these verses. Such an encouragement to this tired, weary body and soul!

Day 229 - Work!

Today was day 2 of my new job! So grateful that God has provided a job for me, and even more grateful that it's at a place I love!

Day 228 - Dayton Dragons

Some friends took us to a Dayton Dragons game tonight! They lost pretty badly, but it was fun to just go hang out! I grew up going to Dragons games, so it's always nice to go back!

Day 227 - A Signed Lease

Today we signed the lease for our new apartment! So exciting! :)

Day 226 - Special Dark

Love the special dark variety, especially the ones with rice!

Day 225 - Baking with Mom

My mom and I spent some time baking these cute little cupcakes this evening. The original recipe is for Lemon Blossoms (check it out here). We took that recipe, which is super yummy, and changed it to make orange, strawberry, and chocolate! It was fun to make them together, and they turned out great!

Day 224 - BRAVO!

My favorite restaurant is BRAVO! We went there to night using some leftover gift cards to celebrate finding an apartment! My favorite thing to get there is the artichoke and spinach formaggio. Sooooo yummy! They also have my favorite ever salad, the BRAVO! Chopped Salad. I actually crave this salad! Thankful for this favorite food that is a special treat!

Day 223 - Preseason Football

Tonight was the first game of the Bengals preseason! It was only on NFLNetwork, so I listened on the radio instead (which is honestly sometimes better anyway!). Enjoyed a great game and a win over the Jets. So ready for fall!

Day 222 - NBC

This week was one of our church's Neighborhood Bible Clubs. It's like VBS, but they host them at people's homes. Roy and I had a great time helping out this week! I had missed being a part of VBS, so it was great to be back!

Day 221 - Medical Terminology

This summer I have been taking Medical Terminology, a prerequisite I'll need for OT school. I love human anatomy, and this class has been fun to take. It has been a lot of work as it was condensed into ten weeks instead of 17, but it was a great review! I'll be finishing it up tomorrow with my final exam!

So thankful that we are fearfully and wonderfully made!

Day 220 - A Good Friend

Having spent a couple hours with a great friend today, this verse came quickly to mind. So thankful for a good friend who loves me just as I am!

Day 219 - Sun Spots

So technically, I think these are called "lens flare," but sun spots just sounds more planned and less like a mistake! Some pictures don't look good with such sun spots, but sometimes I really like the effect!

Day 218 - Apartment Hunting

Thankful to be able to look for our own place! Now we just have to find one that's in our budget and has a couple essentials!

Day 217 - Titmouse

This little guy landed on the hummingbird feeder today! He must be a baby because he just sat there and didn't fly away, even when we stood right there and looked at him! Originally, he was down on the bottom of the feeder. He got smart and figured out that the cup above to catch the ants had water in it! He hopped up there and had a drink. It was so fun to watch him so closely for several minutes!

Day 216 - Job Offers!

I had two job offers this week! Once my background check goes through, I will be employed at my alma mater, Cedarville University! I'm so thankful that after almost three months of working part time here and there, I will finally have a full time job again!

The Lord has been so faithful, and I've especially seen it in the last week as He's guided me and given me wisdom with these job possibilities. We already see glimpses of why He's worked things out in this way and in this timing, which is really cool!

Day 215 - Rita's Water Ice

Roy and I shared a free Rita's water ice today. Red Velvet! It was delicious and refreshing!

Day 214 - Food in France

I wasn't quite sure what to title today's post. Lately, I've been reading some books that have piqued my interest in the French approach to food. Let me just say, it is quite different than ours in America! This picture is the back of the book French Kids Eat Everything: How Our Family Moved to France, Cured Picky Eating, Banned Snacking, and Discovered 10 Simple Rules for Raising Happy, Healthy Eaters. This picture is the 10 simple rules. I don't agree with everything, but if you're looking for an interesting read, I would suggest it!
